Last year we posted about our top 10 ideas for Christmas gifts ideas for Autistic teenagers. We’re sharing again for inspiration (in case, like us, you’ve started to plan already….). Teenagers can be tricky customers when it comes to presents, so here is our original list of top 10 gift ideas, with some added extras for 2025…
1. This “loop lasso” was a big hit in 2023 (Tik Tok reliably tells us), and once you’ve seen one IRL you’ll see how mesmerising they are!

2 & 3. Going for comfort, we recommend very soft and cushioned slippers along with a warm “oodie” style upgrade on a dressing gown. Perfect for those cozy after school snuggles as the nights get darker.

4. A waterproof bluetooth speaker can double up… as entertainment or distraction during your teens shower AND as a timer to help transition out of the shower. E.g. you’re going to listen to 2 songs then when the music ends it’s time to get out.
5. Giant plushies are perfect for tight hugs or a soft lighter stroke. Once incorporated into a routine they can help transition to sleep in different environments over the holidays too.

6. Spiral fidget cone, a different take on a classic fidget spinner, this little gadget is mesmerising to watch and fits easily into a bag or desk drawer.

7. Pin art! An old classic, but we’ve all being playing with this a lot recently here at Autism Positive! So soothing to feel but then also to see the shapes displayed. Face print anyone?

8. Northern lights lamp, excellent for a soothing bed time routine. We like the lamps with different colour way options to suit your mood. Can also be set as a static image if your child doesn’t like the movement.

9. Build your own marble run, an excellent Christmas day activity – perfect for solo or family fun. Plus who doesn’t love playing with a marble run once it’s complete.

10. Weighted blanket, a classic gift but always well received. Perfect for winter afternoons snuggled up, or hiding away once the Christmas visitors arrive.
11. Sensory cuddle square, we’re loving this cuddle square for tactile feedback. Plus with a range of colours it will look good in any teenage bedroom.

12 Jellyfish lamp, if you’re not keen to own your own jellyfish, this soothing lamp creates a low light, and the gentle movements are relaxing to watch.

13. Spinner rings, available in many different designs and colours. They are a more sophisticated take on sensory jewellery and can reduce skin picking for some teenagers.

14. Jellycats! We’re especially loving the Christmas range, who can resist these soft touch toys yet still on trend enough for our teenagers.

15. Sticker maker machine, labels anyone? This bluetooth portable printer can produce doodles, memos, or notes directly from your phone.
We hope you enjoy our recommendations of Christmas gift ideas for Autistic teenagers, we’d love to hear your ideas too!
