Links to our favourite resources for information about Autism

We were speaking at a PGSend Conference this week, and to prepare for this, Michelle wrote about some of her recommended resources for parents and professionals. This blog post contains a sample of information and links…
Here are some links to our favourite resources for information about Autism:
1, Autism Education Trust (AET). This is not for profit organisation led by the National Autistic Society and Ambitious about Autism, and supported by the Department for Education.
2, National Autistic Society. This is the leading UK charity for Autistic people and their families
3, Ambitious About Autism. Founded as TreeHouse in 1997 – a specialist school for children with autism, with four pupils based in a borrowed room in the Royal Free Hospital in North London, Ambitious About Autism has grown and developed into the national charity that it is today, which provides services, raises awareness and influences policy. Lots of information is produced by autistic young people.
4, Autistic Girls Network. The autistic girls network is a small registered charity working to support, educate, and bring change. There are resources on here to help, and it will benefit you to take a different route through the site depending on the support you need. There are routes to learn about Autistic girls and Gender diversity among autistic people. There are routes to follow if you are; an autistic woman; a parent; friends and family; teachers and other professionals; employers.
